How to market Spray Tanning. I chose this because I am the Store Manager at a Total Tan location, so this is something I deal with weekly. Total Tan is not the only salon out there that offers spray tanning to their cliental so this could be very helpful to other salon workers as well. Spray tanning is more difficult to market compared to tanning, since tanning is more popular and has been around longer. I've received so much help throughout the years with this subject is particular and I have become an expert at marketing for spray tanning and I would like to help other salon workers that offer this increase their sales in this area of work.
Secondly, how to manage a store/staff full time while maintaining good grades in college. College is such an important part of our lives that we need to find ways to get through it hopefully stress-free while having a full time job to pay our rent, car note, tuition, and the list goes on. I know I am not the only one that is a full-time student with a full-time job that struggles to be stress-free while trying to do homework, go on campus for class, run a store, make sure my staff is doing their job and so on. I learned how to juggle it through experience, and it would have been helpful if there was a particular "How To" guide for college students that manage a store at the same time.
Thirdly, how to ignore FAST FOOD cravings. This in particular is something that everyone needs to learn in order to stay healthy. Being able to drive past a drive-thru restaurant and accept that they have to wait 5 or 10 more minutes until they're home to eat is something that everyone can overcome, but it's all about having the power to feel okay with that.
"How To's" are extremely helpful. We can discover new ways to deal with our personal situations. Regardless you agree or not something is taken and used from another's point of view on how to deal with certain situations.
My Evolution of the Web View Points
I think the evolution of the web is an amazing and interesting thing, but at the same time it is scary. The things we can do on the web now are out of this world, we do benefit from what we can do but we can also affect a lot of things around us in a negative way depending on the context of what we are saying. That is why no matter what we are using the web for we need to use it in a positive respectful manner because we can end up harming ourselves reputation wise based on what we use it for and what we say on the internet. We can create so many different things, and look up so many different things. We have a question about anything all we need to do is go straight to the web and search what we are looking for or need to know and it is right there with pictures included. To me Web 2.0 is the wants and some needs, what I mean by that is Web 2.0 is where a lot of social networking takes place but does come with needs such as training people through the internet, informing people, keeping people updated, to market, and so on. I do a lot of marketing for my job so Web 2.0 relates to me and my type of connection with the internet. Web 3.0 is meant for things to be easier to be found on the internet. Through Web 3.0 you could search something and be very specific on your details that you're searching for so that it narrows down your search and you can find exactly what you are looking for. An example that was used on the powerpoint was with stamps, if you were to type something in with a descriptive description then the internet through Web 3.0 will bring you to that particular thing you are searching for whether it is an object you are searching or even a certain location. I think that Web 2.0 is much better than Web 1.0 because you can actually interact on sites, where as through Web 1.0 you cannot put your input. Web 3.0 is taking us in a direction where you can find exactly what you are looking for without having to take your search any further.
Appreciation of the Web Evolution
Web 1.0 was the first stage in the world wide web, which was mainly made up web pages connected by hyperlinks. The definition of Web 1.0 is a large source of debate especially because it is believed by many to refer to the Web when it was only a set of static websites that weren't just yet providing interactive content that we needed. In Web 1.0, applications were also generally owned by someone already, there was always previous possession or ownership taken over that application. Web 1.0 generally seems to have been more difficult before the evolution took place, it was very narrow and set in a certain way already so that it was meant for one thing. Web 1.0 didn't give you too much to work with because it was made for one thing only, and then when evolution took place through the internet Web 2.0 came around and we were introduced to another form of searching and using the web. Through Web 2.0 internet users were able to do more on the internet then just look at one thing and that was it. Web 2.0 gave users the advantage of communication, marketing, training, and so on. Since 2004, Web 2.0 has been the term that is used to describe and explain the social Web. Through the social web anyone can take part in social networking sites and hold a prominent place in users' online activities. Web 2.0 is characterized by greater user interactivity and collaboration. Web 2.0 allows there to be that interaction that users need via the internet. This has taken us to a whole other level of the internet during this evolution. Web 2.0 gives the opportunity to search things and go back to it, and allows internet users to ask questions via the web and get a response back within minutes, sometimes even seconds. Communication has become a lot easier through Web 2.0. And then Web 3.0 came into the mix. Web 3.0 gives internet users the freedom to access data from anywhere, anytime. Web 3.0 is called the Semantic Web, which is a term that was founded by Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the first World Wide Web. The changes throughout these three types of web are drastic but something that is used everyday and needs to be appreciated.
