I have never used
WiKiHow before, let alone made one myself, so this was all new to me. I never really thought about the ins and outs of marketing (what I did my topic on), until this assignment. It is so natural for me that I never realized the process behind it, and the extra amount of work you're doing outside of your actual job. There is so much more to it then what people really think, then what I really thought. Although I created my WiKi on
marketing, something I do almost everyday for my job, I learned a lot from it and that is what I found interesting and beneficial about this assignment in particular. Breaking down the steps made me think more out of the box on what you need to really do, you cannot just go somewhere and market, you need to have a plan. I enjoyed taking pictures of what I use to market along with the location. Because the marketing cards, Twitter account, and the shirt were things of mine in particular so I was able to show some things I personally use, as far as the location goes that is for anyone to choose on their own. I enjoyed the thought that someone may actually use my WiKi one day, because I know I needed all the guidance I could get when I started marketing, I had so many questions! And hopefully I can answer some, if not all questions that another person may have that has to market for the company they were for. I liked the fact that I could write about something I have knowledge on instead of having to look up a certain topic and use other peoples knowledge, I like sharing my personal opinions and what I do personally, especially because it is something I am proud of. I feel when we share our personal stories on relatable topics our readers or listeners learn more because it is more realistic and we share more common interest.

As far as communicating my WiKi, I believe pictures help the best. A lot of people learn better off of seeing things, I can easily write about marketing all day long but seeing objects you may need, attire you should where, locations help a lot more, I believe it would get someone thinking more. When I was being told about marketing I remember being so stumped in the beginning, I didn't know where to go, what to wear, what I should bring, what to say on the internet until I had someone show me how they market. I learned so much from that one experience that I now teach my own staff in particular how to do it, or I share my ideas with other stores, and even corporate. I didn't take information on marketing from another reference because I feel as if the topic I chose in particular which was marketing on spray tanning is such a limited, small topic that I took my own knowledge. Spray tanning is not something that a lot of people market about I have realized, so I felt as if using my own examples, and pictures was the best route for me to take. Especially because I have been doing this for some years now and I have found a way that is rather quite successful, if I was a beginner writing about marketing then I would probably look elsewhere for more information on it. When you are writing about something you are excited about, proud of, I feel you do not need much outside information. You eventually find what is successful for you which makes it that much easier to not feel the need to look elsewhere for someone else's information.
Writing down what you need to do for my topic, step by step was not extremely hard, or super easy for me. This is because using social media, and going to a public place to market does not need to be done in a certain order in my eyes. I am on my social media just about everyday tweeting about what is going on at my salon, I do not do that in a specific order necessarily. The steps for marketing that I wrote about, I tend to do in any order. Finding a location you can do any time, any day so you already have that planned out for when you do, having the proper attire is a must, and the objects to market with you need either before or after you choose a location to market at.
There were a couple issues I ran into while doing this assignment. One thing in particular that I struggled with was limiting the amount of words I could use. I feel I get so excited about this topic in particular that I have a lot to say about it, so I had to choose my words wisely but at the same time I liked that because I was able to find a way to be more descriptive and not talk too much at the same time. Choosing a background color was difficult for me for some reason. I could not get the codes that I needed to use to work at first. I must have been putting it in the wrong spot, I am not sure. I even watched the tutorial and I still managed to messed it up here and there. I also am not sure if my links to certain words went through. I wanted to find a way to change my font and make my page look more appealing but I could not figure it out and I did not want to try and do too much to it to the point where there was a lot going on. I got confused a couple times with saving my WiKi while working on it so I would keep the browser opened worrying I would lose anything, although I did have it all saved onto another document. But overall, I feel I did learn from this assignment, and thinking more into marketing and what I do, it made me think more about the locations I market at in particular.
